This week we debunked the claim on Twitter that the BBC's Middle East editor Jeremy Bowen had been withdrawn from Gaza for apparently defending Hamas.
The real reason was much more mundane; he is in fact just on holiday.
"Claims that Jeremy Bowen has been removed from Gaza under Israeli pressure are nonsense," a BBC spokesperson told i100.
"After reporting from Syria, Iraq, Israel and Gaza he is on holiday but will be returning to the Middle East very soon.”
But one man in particular, an MP no less, is refusing to give up on other interpretation of the story.
If Bowen tells me man to man he left Gaza on holiday in the middle of the war I will believe it. Until then I will not.— George Galloway (@georgegalloway) August 6, 2014
